How it works


What happens with installation?
A new fibre will be fed into your house in a similar way to how phone lines are, either via a telegraph pole or via an unground duct. A hole will be drilled into your house and a fibre termination wall outlet will be installed, to this your new router will be installed.
How do I set up my account?
Your account is set up on our system and you will sign the contract digitally. We will then contact you to arrange a date to visit your house for installation. The installation will be completed in a day or less and your new hyperfast fibre broadband will be live and ready for you to surf, game and stream!
What postcodes do you cover?

We hope to cover the whole of Wadhurst and extend as far as we can within the next 12 months. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase postcodes: TN5 6BF, TN5 6DB, TN5 6DD, TN5 6DE, TN5 6DG, TN5 6DH, TN5 6DL, TN5 6DQ, TN5 6HT, TN5 6HU, TN5 6HY, TN5 6HZ, TN5 6RG

What will happen to my landline?

You’re free to keep your landline and continue the payment directly to BT. Alternatively you can convert to our voice over IP line option.

For internet critical applications, such as your phone line, we can provide an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) which will provide backup power supply provision in case of a power outage.

How are Smartfibre funded?

Smartfibre is a privately funded company established 20 years ago. Smartfibre was an early adopter of Voip technology, then fibre technology, and now runs about 1/3 of London’s creative sectors fibre connectivity in commercial studio and office complexes. In rural areas such as Wadhurst and Mayfield, where possible we will access Government funding to install fibre in rural areas. This brings expensive pure fibre connectivity at little or no cost to consumers. Fibre has a capital lifespan in excess of 25 years.
